Course Concierge: Wanted: Bookkeeper/accountant, who feels like a very safe pair of hands

Headquarters: Los Angeles, CA

Hi there,

My name’s Carrie and I run Operations at Course Concierge ( – a publishing house that creates online courses for well-known YouTubers.

Our courses have hundreds of thousands of paying students, and our clients' videos are seen by tens of millions of people every month.

Our company is small, lean and profitable, and we’re looking for somebody to help manage our bookkeeping. We have systems already in place and an internal finance lead available to support you. We would like someone to come in and take over the reins, quickly getting up to speed and continuing all our reporting reliably for the long term.

We are a US LLC – though entirely remote (US, Europe, and Asia at the moment). All of our transactions are through Stripe and PayPal. We have somebody great who manages tax compliance.

Specifically, we’re looking for help with…

- Maintaining our Xero account, income statement, and balance sheet;

- Management of invoices and receipts, and staff payments;

- Monthly client financial reporting (to be done quickly within the first few days of each month);

- Producing a quarterly management report (which we have a template for);

- Managing the occasional budget for specific things like legal;

- Managing an Employer of Record account we use (for international team members);

We want someone meticulous, who we trust, who can handle things.

As a company, we keep a great emphasis on simplicity, as well as clarity of written communication.

We are looking for someone ultra-reliable to fill the position and get going as quickly as possible.

The position will be hourly and we expect will average around 40 hours monthly, with most hours needed in the early part of each month.

You should have an accountancy qualification (or be working toward one), be Xero certified, and have experience in accounts management. And you should have availability to turn things around quickly, particularly at the start of each month.

We have a no-CV policy. To apply, please just write back with a short letter noting your experience, where you are located, and why you think you’d be a good fit.

Send your note to us at the following email address:

Deadline for applications is Sunday, March 17th (though those who apply soonest are at an advantage).

Thanks for reading, and we look forward to hearing from you!

- Carrie
